The UNIDES Project titled “Social Media Education,” initiated by the Malatya Turgut Özal University (MTÜ) New Media Community in collaboration with the MTÜ Continuing Education Application and Research Center (MTÜSEM), has been launched. As part of this training, Dr. Yasemin Keskin Yılmaz, a faculty member from our Department of Visual Communication Design, gave two separate sessions on Brand Management and Digital Advertising to students from the Department of New Media and Communication at the MTÜ Faculty of Social and Human Sciences. The session on Brand Management covered the basic stages of the branding process in detail. The importance of target audience analysis was emphasized to the participating students, and examples were given on how to create a successful brand identity. The Digital Advertising session introduced the advertising infrastructure of social media platforms and explained how campaigns run on these platforms are designed. The operation of programmatic advertising systems, targeting techniques, strategies to consider in content production, and methods for measuring campaign performance were covered in detail.
At the end of the training, practical assessments were conducted using sample case studies prepared for both topics, and an interactive Q&A session was held with the participating students. In this section, students had the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge and share their own ideas.
